Regardless of how old you are, how dire your economic situation may be, or how lowly most people regard you, you can be super-wealthy. You can be super-wealthy at the age of sixteen or at the age of ninety six, as long as you exhibit the qualities, attitudes, and belief systems shown by financially successful people. There are so many billionaires today who started so young. While some of these successful people started in their teens, some started in their early, mid, and late twenties. Only few of them were actually brought up in wealthy homes.
So, what exactly did these super-wealthy people do that distinguishes them from the overwhelming majority of human beings? And why do they continue to excel at what they do?
They understand that to achieve a different result, they will have to act differently
The primary reason most people achieve so little like the overwhelming majority of people in the world is that they follow other people’s footsteps; for example, they follow the footsteps of their parents, siblings, friends, or the members of their society. It’s what I call the bandwagon effect. It is also the same reason most people do not achieve astonishing results in their professions and careers. They are complacent and satisfied with so little because the people around them are just as complacent and mediocre. The act of following the crowd simply because it is safer to do so cannot make you super-wealthy.
Quit following the crowd; stop following that predominantly treaded path. Create your own path and make a difference. Bill Gate had to do something different to stand out from the rest of the world. If he had followed the crowd, he wouldn’t have been outstanding. He would have simply ended up where the crowd ended up; he would have been complacent and mediocre. But he realized he couldn’t afford to be like the crowd. He wanted a different result for himself. And he understood that his actions, beliefs, choices, and values would have to be different from those of most people to achieve exceptional results. Mark Zuckerberg, Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, all these people had to be innovative to stand out from the rest of the world.
They understand the value of their resources
Highly successful people do not joke with their resources. They value their time as much as they value their money. They don’t spend unnecessarily, and they don’t have unnecessary conversations. These people work with time and invest their resources on very important projects. They value and use their time and money very differently from how most people use theirs. They are sometimes considered as workaholics by their friends and families, who do not share their values, beliefs, and perspectives.
While most people’s mental attitudes and behavioral dispositions towards achieving success are pitiable, to put it mildly, financially successful people show quality and exceptional self-confidence, courage, positive belief, perseverance, determination, and hunger for success. They burn the midnight candle, and try to find effective solutions to the common problems faced by most people. They create technology and discover facts through sweat and pain. And at the end of the day, they are proud of all the effort they have put in. Therefore, financially successful people do not work at the same rate as most people. In actuality, they work at a higher rate, and are far more burnt out.
They have the right belief systems
The primary difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful person is their belief systems. Your beliefs determine your altitude and your limitations. No matter how unfavorable the circumstances surrounding your life may be, it takes having the right belief systems to improve your life and experience desirable social mobility.
Nobody becomes super-wealthy by fulfilling the duties of the proletariat. While working for an employer can be a very useful endeavor, especially if you are not from a wealthy home, you must be willing to think outside the box. Without employees, a business cannot thrive, but you don’t have to be an employee for a long time. At some point, you may have to grow your own wings and begin to fly. You may need to start your own business.
More so, financially successful people do not give up when they fail. They don’t always succeed, and when they fail they learn from those failures. They are more likely to be despised by most people who wish to be like them, but they are not so generous with their attention because they are always concentrating on their very important projects.
They also believe in taking control of their lives. They understand that they are the architects of their lives, and the navigator of their ships. They try as much as possible not to leave anything to chance. And they don’t believe in luck, even if there may be such thing as luck.
